A campaign has been started calling for Weezer to split up.
The campaign, organised by Seattle resident James Burns, is offering $10million for the band to call it a day.
Burns said he was not a Weezer fan, but was “tired” of his friends being “disappointed” by their recent releases.
“Every year, Rivers Cuomo swears that he’s changed, and that their new album is the best thing that he’s done since 'Pinkerton', and what happens?” he said.
“Another pile of crap like 'Beverly Hills' or 'I’m Your Daddy'.”
UPDATE: Weezer Challenge Fans To Raise $20Million For 'Deluxe Breakup'.
The petition, entitled 'We will offer Weezer $10 million to break up', wants all 852,000 people who bought 'Pinkerton' to donate $12 to reach their campaign.
As previously reported on Gigwise, Weezer are set to re-issue 'Pinkerton' on November 1.
Weezer - live
- They should make one for Green Day as well, and go even further by forcing the record company to delete evrey post Dookie record
- Expect for the fact that nimrod and wrning were their best albums since 1039 smoothed out slappy hours? yeah...
- No, no, no. If you don't like them, don't listen. I think they are fabulous. This is just one of those bandwagons everyone wants to be on because it is popular.
- Green Day is gay and so is Starrynight76. He thinks their "fabulous." Anyone that truly knows good music can hear they suck. I agree with Meh, everything sucks after Dookie. Starrynight, Green Day is the Bandwagon!
- They should have retired after their first album and quite while they weren't ahead.
