Lady Gaga has been challenged to a $1 million televised sing-off by a Los Angeles-based singer.
Alisa Apps claims the singer is simply the product of the music industry.
"I feel sorry for Lady Gaga -- she's just a plastic doll generated by the music money marketing machine," she told Billboard.
"This contest gives people a chance to choose which they prefer - plastic or real."
Apps wants the contest to take place at either Madison Square Garden in New York or London's O2 Arena.
Lady Gaga has come under increasing criticism in recent months from a host of stars, including M.I.A and Grace Jones. She has yet to respond to the challenge.
Meanwhile, Lady Gaga is set to embark on the latest European leg of her Monster Ball world tour tonight (October 13) in Helsinki, Finland.
The singer, who returns to the UK in December, will release her new album 'Born This Way' in the new year.
