X Factor contestants are set to release a cover of David Bowie’s ‘Heroes’ as a charity single.
The track will feature all 16 finalists, including Cher Lloyd and Diva Fever, and is due to raise money for Help For Heroes.
The charity raises money to support members of the Armed Forces who have been wounded in the service of their country.
The cover of ‘Heroes’ will be released on November 7, according to The Sun.
In 2008, X Factor finalists, including eventual winner Alexandra Burke, released a cover of Mariah Carey’s ‘Hero’ for the charity.
The song raised £1.3million for the Help For Heroes Rehabilitation Complex at Headley Court.
David Bowie - Through The Years
- a travesty. Disgraceful. Totally inappropriate use and I cannot believe Bowie would support this
- Dear Sir / Madam,
I have heard some information which is highly concerning and disturbing to myself, all David Bowie fans and music lovers universally.
I have asked FREEMANTLE TV not to use the song "Heroes" by David Bowie, as part of anything whatsoever to do with Xfactor. Not only is the programme a blatant insult to any intelligent person unfortunate to view it, the "contestants" are obviously in need for a reality check...
- Why doesn't Bowie Re-Release Heroes as a charity single himself. It would raise millions.
