Fashion designer Vivienne Westwood is set to style next year’s BRIT Awards statue, it’s been announced.
Westwood will give the prizes a makeover when they’re handed out at the O2 Arena in London on February 15.
“Vivienne stands for all the things we want to inspire in tomorrow’s generation of artists,” BRIT Awards chairman David Joseph said.
Organisers have also axed the Outstanding Contribution Awards, which in the past has gone to the likes of Oasis, Robbie Williams and Sir Paul McCartney.
Instead, the ceremony will close with the announced of the winner of the British Album Of The Year award.
Films about each nominated album will be broadcast throughout the programme ahead of the award, organisers said.
