Suede lead singer Brett Anderson has expressed his views on the X Factor, calling it 'chessy' and 'dross'.
The singer believes that the reality talent show is creating more opposition from credible artists.
"When there's something really cheesy in the mainstream like The X Factor it inspires something in the counter-culture to oppose it,'' Anderson told Metro.
He added: "The interesting flipside is with people like Bat For Lashes - people making exciting leftfield music. It's a reaction to the dross in the mainstream."
The recently reformed Suede, are set to play a one off show at London's O2 Arena on December 7. Tickets are on sale now. For more details and to buy Suede tickets, check out Gigwise Gig Tickets.
