Take That and Simon Cowell clashed over the band’s proposed performance on the X Factor final, it’s been reported.
The group were apparently set to perform new single ‘Kidz’ on the show last night (December 12).
But Cowell, a judge on the programme, vetoed their performance after discovering they planned to be backed by dancers dressed as riot police.
The 51-year-old music mogul thought the planned to routine was in bad taste following the clashes at the recent student protests in London.
"He thought it wasn't on having dancers dressed as riot police. He told Take That it was insensitive and inappropriate and asked them to change things,” a source told The Sun.
Take That are reported to have considered pulling out of the show before agreeing to sing recent single ‘Flood’.
Matt Cardle, a former painter and decorator, was crowned winner of this year’s X Factor.
