Bryan Ferry has said Lady Gaga is a “supreme example” of a musician who has mastered combining music and art.
In an exclusive video interview with Gigwise, available to watch on Gigwise TV on the right hand side of this page, the Roxy Music star said he had a lot of admiration for the singer.
“She does amazing shows and her records are really good I think,” he said. “They’re very well produced and they sound great on the radio.”
Ferry's new album 'Olympia' sees him collaborate with a host of stars, including Scissor Sisters and Groove Armada, and also features Kate Moss on the cover.
He admitted that he had always been attracted to musicians who “put on a bit of a show”.
“I think that singer who is out now who has that amazing voice, Cee Lo Green, he’s a great showman as well,” he said.
“He comes from that tradition in black music which observes the theatricality of it all, and yet it’s very soulful as well - it’s real music - but it’s like, hey don’t be ashamed to do a bit of showbiz too.”
'Olympia' is out now and includes the singles 'Shameless' and 'You Can Dance'.
