Hurts Blame Lazy UK Shoppers For HMV Store Closures

Hurts have spoken out about the recent HMV closures blaming UK shoppers.

Music retailer HMV revealed on Wednesday (November 5) that it plans to close 60 stores in the next 12 months after publishing weaker than expected profits.

Frontman Theo Hutchcraft defended the music outlet's closure, saying it's due to lazy shoppers.

Hutchcraft posted on his Twitter: ''HMV's decline is the start of a world where we all sit in dirty tracksuit bottoms, wiping biscuit crumbs from our mouths & conducting our whole lives on the f*cking internet. The machines are winning.''

Meanwhile, independent music store Rough Trade revealed yesterday that its profits had grown over the same period.

  • Maybe it's about time musicians, film and game makers stop being lazy and actually make full albums and entertaining films and games that aren't remakes! Oh and stop over-charging too!
