Jessie J Delighted With BBC Sound Of 2011 Triumph

Jessie J has said she is “so happy” after topping the BBC’s Sound Of 2011 list.

The 22-year-old singer beat the likes of James Blake and The Vaccines to come first on the annual countdown.

In a message on Twitter, Jessie J said:” Mmaaaann!!! Today is crazy!!! I've been up since 4 30am. Sssoo happy! Soo busy! Thank you BBC and everyone who voted.”

The singer, who recently released this single ‘Do It Like A Dude’, is due to appear on BBC Radio 1 this morning (January 7).

The BBC Sound Of 2011 was collated from the votes of more than 160 music industry tastemakers.

This year’s longlist also included Jamie Woon, Clare Maguire, Anna Calvi and Mona.

In past years, the BBC countdown has been won by Ellie Goulding, Little Boots and Mika.
