Lady Gaga Thanks Whitney Houston For 'Born This Way' At Grammy Awards 2011

Lady Gaga thanked Whitney Houston as she picked up her award, at the Grammy Awards last night.

The singer, who won a total of three awards at the ceremony, thanked Whitney Houston for inspiring her new single 'Born This Way' as she picked up up the prize for Best Pop Vocal Album for 'The Fame Monster'.

"I need to say thank you tonight to Whitney Houston. I wanted to thank Whitney because when I wrote 'Born This Way', I imagined she was singing it because I wasn't secure enough in myself to imagine I was a superstar,'' Gaga told the audience.

She added: "So Whitney, I imagined you were singing 'Born This Way' when I wrote it. Thank you."
