Top Of The Pops is set to make a return on BBC4.
The hit music show, which ran for forty two years before being dropped in 2006, will make its return to Thursday nights on BBC4 from April 7, reports Metro.
BBC4 will run the show from its earliest recordings in 1976 but will not be filming any new episodes.
There have been a mixed reaction to the news, journalist Peter Robinson said over Twitter: ''What really f*cks me off about the BBC4 wheeling out classic TOTP episodes from 1976 onwards is that they are admitting how culturally important TOTP was as a cultural record, but they don't seem to mind that pop music in 2011 is not being archived in a similar way.''
Top Of The Pops is still aired every year for a special Christmas Day edition.
