Adele has broken the record for the longest time at number one for any female on the UK album chart.

The London singer's new album '21' has now spent ten consecutive weeks at number one, which was previously held by Madonna's 1990's 'The Immaculate Collection'.

Adele's debut '19' is currently at number two after a total of 107 weeks in the UK top 40.

Radiohead's 'King Of Limbs' was a new entry at number seven, whilst Britney Spears' 'Femme Fatale' debuted at number eight.

Elsewhere, on the singles chart, Adele's single 'Somebody Like You' slipped to number two on the UK Chart as Jennifer Lopez made her return to music with new single 'On The Floor' featuring Pitbull.

Former Pussycat Dolls' Nicole Scherzinger's 'Don't Hold Your Breath' is at number five, while Katy B's 'Broken Record' is a new entry at number eight.
