Rio Ferdinand has again criticised Fulham chairman Mohammed Al Fayed over his decision to erect a statue of Michael Jackson outside the club's ground.
Al Fayed unveiled the statue, which depicts Jackson performing, at Craven Cottage on Sunday (April 3), and told people who didn't like it to "go to hell".
Ferdinand first slammed proposals for the statue last month, despite being a fan of the late singer, and has again criticised it following its launch.
On Twitter today (April 4), the Manchester United star said: “Did Michael Jackson even like football??! What is a statue of the great man doing outside of the Fulham FC stadium?!
“Put a poster up not a statue!! A statue outside a stadium is for people who have achieved great things at that club not for 1 lil appearance!”
He added: “Al Fayed said he and Jacko were great friends....well put the statue up at YOUR house maaaaaaan!!”
Ferdinand went on to jokingly list a number of celebrities who he thought warranted a statue, including James Corden, Lily Allen and Russell Brand.
