Liam Gallagher has defended Manchester United star Wayne Rooney after he was caught swearing on the pitch.

Rooney was banned for two matches and will miss United’s FA Cup semi-final clash with Gallagher’s Manchester City at Wembley Stadium today (April 16).

"I don't know what the big fuss is about, you know,” Gallagher said.

"I suppose there's a lot of kids out there called Sebastian who will find it horrific that he's swearing down the camera. But it happens, young man."

But Gallagher wasn’t kind to all of United’s team - he hit out at captain Gary Neville.

He told Football Focus: “If the world was full of f*cking Gary Nevilles man, it would be bobbins, wouldn't it? He just looks like an estate agent."

Beady Eye are currently on their first full UK tour - you can see pictures from their opening gig in Nottingham below.
