Prince Was Meant To Play Glastonbury Festival 2011

Glastonbury festival organiser Michael Eavis has revealed he tried to book Prince to headline this year's Glastonbury festival.

Eavis said the singer was one of his main priorities but he failed to agree terms.

"I tried to get Prince earlier on. At one point he was, then he wasn't, then he was. It was a question of a bird in the hand," he told the Daily Star.

"A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush, if not three in a bush. In the end I went for the bands we have on the bill now, which ain't bad."

Prince has since been confirmed as the headline act at this year's Hop Farm Festival in Kent. The event will be his only UK appearance of 2011.
