Cheryl Cole Replaced By Nicole Scherzinger As X Factor USA Judge

Cheryl Cole has been officially dropped as a judge on The X Factor USA.

The Girls Aloud star will be replaced by Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger, US TV bosses confirmed.

In a statement, Fox TV said: "Fox, Freemantlemedia North America and Syco TV today confirm Nicole Scherzinger will be replacing Cheryl Cole on the judging panel of The X Factor.

"Nicole will join Simon Cowell, L.A. Reid and Paula Abdul on their search across America to find the next global superstar or group to win the life-changing $5 million dollar recording deal.”

Cole was reportedly sacked last month over fears American audiences would not be able to understand her accent.

Earlier today (June 6), Cowell's publicist Max Clifford said the music mogul had been working to get Cole re-instated on the programme.
