Eminem To Team Up With 'Training Day' Director For New Film 'Southpaw'

Eminem is set to star in a new boxing film, directed by 'Training Day' director Antoine Fuqua, according to reports.

The rapper will play a boxer in the upcoming film 'Southpaw', reports the Los Angeles Times.

The news comes after Fuqua was set to direct a biopic film about the late rapper Tupac Shakur, who was gunned down and killed in Las Vegas in 1996.

Explaining Eminem's role in the film, 'Southpaw' writer, Kurt Sutter said: "I took meetings with Marshall's producing partners over the past seven years, looking for something to do together. I know he's very selective and doesn't do a lot. But he shared so much of his personal struggle in this raw and very honest album, one that I connected with on a lot of levels... At its core, this (film) is a retelling of his struggles over the last five years of his life, using the boxing analogy,"

No further details about the film have been released.

Meanwhile, Eminem has branded Lady Gaga a “male lady” in his new song, 'A Kiss'.
