Former Smiths drummer Mike Joyce has backed Morrissey after his recent comments made about the actions of fast food companies to the recent attacks in Norway.
Morrissey came under fire from fans at a recent show after he was quoted as saying: “We all live in a murderous world, as the events in Norway have shown, with 97 dead.
“Though that is nothing compared to what happens in McDonald’s and Kentucky Fried Sh*t every day.”
Joyce revealed his thoughts on the issue over Twitter: ''Been asked a lot about the comments made by Moz regarding the slaughter of innocent animals every day. He's right isn't he?''
Following the comments made at the show, Morrissey issued a statement saying: "If you quite rightly feel horrified at the Norway killings, then it surely naturally follows that you feel horror at the murder of ANY innocent being. You cannot ignore animal suffering simply because animals 'are not us'."
Morrissey's comment is the latest in a string of outbursts in recent months, many of which have focussed on animal welfare.
