Beyonce To Play MTV Video Music Awards 2011

Beyonce will perform at this weekend's MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) in Los Angeles, it's been announced.

The singer is a last minute addition to the performing bill, which also includes Lady Gaga, Adele and Lil' Wayne.

Jessie J will serve as the house artist at Nokia Theatre on August 28.

As previously reported on Gigwise, Tony Bennett will pay tribute to Amy Winehouse at this year's VMAs.

The singer will lead a tribute to the late Winehouse at the ceremony along with behind-the-scenes shots of the pair working on their duet 'Body and Soul'.

Katy Perry looks set to dominate this year's VMAs after collecting nine nominations.

The singer is nominated for all the major awards, including Video Of The Year' for 'Firework', Best Female Video and Best Pop Video.
