Noel Gallagher: Labour Party Are As Sleazy And Horrible As The Tories

Noel Gallagher has slammed the Labour Party and said he is “offended" by the Coalition government.

The former Oasis guitarist turned solo artist made the rembarks during an appearance on BBC's Newsnight programme.

During the interview, Gallagher revealed that he had voted for a pirate in the last election because “there is nothing left to vote for any more”.

“Running up to the last election on the night of it I wasn't going to vote until my wife said, 'Well you've got to vote'. I've got to say it's the first time I've picked the most ludicrous thing on the list,” he said.

“Some guy was standing as a pirate and everybody was going to dress as a pirate. There's nothing cooler than a pirate – Keith Richards is a pirate, Johnny Depp is a pirate – what's cooler than that?”

He added: “The labour party have proved themselves to be just as sleazy and horrible as we all know the conservatives are. There's nothing left to vote for any more.”

Gallagher also spoke about the UK riots during the interview, playing down suggestions that they were politically motivated.
