George Michael's voice could suffer during the treatment for his ongoing battle with pneumonia.

The singer has been ordered by doctors to stay in hospital in Vienna, Austria after catching ‘serve’ pneumonia.

He initially cancelled his upcoming two dates at Cardiff, Motorpoint Arena but a spokesman has now confirmed that none of the planned UK shows will go ahead.

Doctors treating Michael said the ventilator he is attached to could alter his vocals.

Dr Wohlt told The Sun: "It depends how long he spends on the ventilator, but in the worst case his illness could seriously affect his singing capacity.

"The pressure is very close to his vocal cords and it could affect them."

George Michael’s publicist Connie Filippello said: "George Michael is ill with pneumonia and any other speculation regarding his illness is unfounded and untrue."

All 14 dates on his Symphonica tour will be rescheduled for next year.
