A biopic about Amy Winehouse could get the go ahead if the singer's family believe the 'truth is being told'.
As previously reported on Gigwise, Amy's father Mitch denied plans to make a story around the late singer's life saying he would not allow her songs to be used in movie.
Entertainment Weekly reports that the singer's family could still give their permission for the biopic but only if the subject matter is handled sensitively.
A spokesperson for Mitch said: Mitch and the family would entertain ideas perhaps for a film but only one they were sure would tell the truth.
Amy Winehouse’s former boyfriend Reg Traviss has said that he thinks it is ‘inevitable’ that a film of the late singer’s life will be made.
The film director revealed that he has already been asked to helm a film but has declined.
Speaking to the Sunday Mirror he said: "I guess a biopic is inevitable. I have been asked but I honestly don't think I could do it. I'd be too close to it.
"But whoever does write and direct the film may ¬exaggerate certain points to make it more 'Hollywood'. The family would want to be involved to make sure that it's done justice. But right now it's all too raw."
