The first still from the upco0ming movie The Bourne Legacy has been unveiled.
Jeremy Renner replaces Matt Damon in the Bourne franchise, with the latest installment dealing with the consequences of the actions of Damon's Jason Bourne.
The actor will be joined by Oscar-winner Rachel Weisz and Incredible Hulk star Edward Norton in the movie.
Renner told Empire: "My character is called Aaron Cross, but he ends up having a bunch of different names."
The film, Renner assures fans, takes place alongside the Bourne series, saying: "For fans of the franchise, it has the same ticking clock, but it’s a new programme and new characters. It's that same deal, it’s just a new set of agents with a different leash. It’s the same tempo and pace but more expansive and bigger. The differences are pretty vast but you’ll still know it's a Bourne movie."
The Bourne Legacy is scheduled for release on August 17, 2012
