Facebook have launched their new social music service 'Listen With Friends' service.

The new service will enable users of Facebook to listen to music at the same time as their friends and discuss the tracks selected using Facebook Chat.

According to PC Mag as many as 50 users will be able to listen and talk about the tracks at the same time.

Facebook users' will see a musical note appear when they are listening to a track to notify their friends also online. People will then be able to select the 'Listen with' button to hear what track is being played.

Facebook product designer Alexandre Roche spoke about the new service in a blog:

You can listen to the same song, at the exact same time—so when your favorite vocal part comes in you can experience it together, just like when you're jamming out at a performance or dance club

Last year Facebook teamed-up with Spotify as part of a new online streaming initiative for the social network site.

The partnership will enable users to access over 15 million songs, share music with friends and see what tracks are trending on the site.
