Barack Obama has been asked to sing a duet with Al Green on 'American Idol.'
The US President sang the first line from Green's 'Let's Stay Together,' which has since became the official song for Obama's re-election campaign, at a recent rally in New York.
'Nasty' Nigel Lythgoe, who produces American Idol, has since tweeted the president, asking him to appear on the show.
“We loved your vocal performance so much we'd love to invite you on to American Idol this season for a duet with Al Green,” he wrote.
After leading candidate for the Republican Party presidential nomination, Matt Rimney attempted to upstage Obama yesterday by singing 'America The Beautiful' at a Florida rally, Lythgoe waded in again via Twitter.
The television producer tweeted: “If it were an election based on vocal talent Obama would beat Romney hands down. Mitt was very flat singing “America the Beautiful.”
