Ed Sheeran has topped the charts with the lowest selling UK Number One album in 17 years.
Sheeran rose to the top of charts on Sunday (January 29) , replacing Adele's '21,' but Music Week has reported that the 20,607 copies sold mark the lowest weekly sales for a Number One album since the Levellers' 'Zeitgeist' claimed the top spot in 1995 with sales of 13,885.
The singer's debut album '+' was the ninth most successful album of 2011, with 477,000 total sales.
Last week, Sheeran outsold Coldplay's 'Mylo Xyloto' by 1,202 to narrowly take the Number One slot.
Higher sales figures are predicted for this week, with Lana Del Rey's hotly anticipated debut album 'Born To Die' released yesterday.
