One quarter of one of the biggest bands to have ever existed, Paul McCartney is a musical legend for not only his work within The Beatles but for his solo career since the band's demise.

Speaking to Metro, McCartney has recently spoken out about his time in The Beatles commenting “Was I really there, in The Beatles? Bloody hell!” when looking at a picture taken of him and George Harrison on a plane.

Continuing he said “It’s obviously a stupid thought but I’m glad I haven’t got used to it yet.”

The star has been in the spotlight since Beatlemania kicked off in the 1960s and has been written about as much for his musical offerings as his marriages. His marriage and subsequent divorce from Heather Mills in 2008 saw his name splashed all over the media. Since then however, McCartney has remarried to Nancy Shevell.

Always a romantic, McCartney has written a song to his new wife entitled ‘My Valentine’ which is one the few original songs to feature on his new album ‘Kisses On The Bottom’.

The album which mainly features covers from McCartney’s favourite childhood songs also has guest appearances from Eric Clapton and Stevie Wonder.

‘Kisses On The Bottom’ is released today (February 6).
