DJ John Peel's record collection is set to be turned into an online museum.
The collection, which includes 25,000 LPs, 40,000 singles and CDs, will be part of an Arts Council backed project.
Peel's widow Sheila Ravenscroft said: "We're very happy that we've finally found a way to make John's amazing collection available to his fans, as he would have wanted."
Tom Barker, Director, John Peel Centre for Creative Arts, added: "It is the first step in creating an interactive online museum with access to the entire collection, one of the most important archives in modern music history."
The John Peel Centre will launch the project called The Space in May and aims to put 100 albums online each week until October.
The DJ, who pioneered new music on the BBC, died in October 2004 after suffering a heart attack during a family holiday. He was 65.
