Madonna has been threatened with legal action over the title of her new single.
The singer, who released the track earlier this week, has been threatened with legal action by 'Girls Gone Wild' creator Joe Francis.
The founder's lawyers sent a cease and desist letter to the singer after hearing a track from her new album MDNA .
Francis insisted that Madonna change the title of the track from 'Girls Gone Wild' to 'Girl Gone Wild', or face legal action.
Speaking to TMZ, Francis said: ''Clearly her label was trying to avoid legal action surrounding the song. But 'Girl Gone Wild' is still infringement as far as the law is concerned, and we have been in touch with Madonna's people in an effort to resolve the issue.''
The album MDNA is set to be released on March 26, and features production by William Orbit, who previously worked on the singer's acclaimed “Ray Of Light” album. A world tour has been announced.
