    Critics applaud new Madonna album

Music critics and bloggers have responded positively to the first listen of Madonna's latest album: “MDNA”.

Reviews for the Material Girl's twelfth studio album have been glowing, following a listening party held at Abbey Road studios in London yesterday (Wednesday).

The Mirror's Dean Piper stated that Madonna proves she is a “force to be reckoned with”, while The Telegraph music critic Neil McCormick praised Madonna for “balancing the twin requirements of radio-friendly hooks and dance floor drive.” However, Neil did note that the Superbowl Star's lyrics “appear to have been added as an afterthought.”

The Guardian Music Blog also complimented the “Like A Virgin” singer, stating that although the album contains “weak singles” it also has plenty of “brilliantly bonkers moments.”

This is good news for Madonna as her most recent single, “Give Me All You Luvin” only peaked at number 37 in the UK charts following her epic Superbowl Performance in February. The American popstar is set to play Hyde Park on 17 July 2012.
