The Rolling Stones have revealed that their 50th anniversary tour has been pushed back to 2013 as they are not ready to take to the road.
Speaking to Rolling Stone magazine (appropriately enough), Keith Richards revealed that he, Mick Jagger, Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts would not be touring as was previously hoped. As previously reported on Gigwise, Ronnie Wood said the the band owed it to their fans to tour again.
"Basically, we’re just not ready," Richards tells the magazine. "Instead, 2013 is the new goal. "I have a feeling that’s more realistic."
Insiders suggest that Richards' poor health may be to blame for the tour's postponement.
The guitarist also revealed that the sixties rockers would be hitting the studio to record new music, adding: "We’ll just get the boys back together again then and maybe cut a side," he added. "I’ve got plenty in the locker here, but it’s not on tape."
The Rolling Stones played their first ever gig in London on July 12, 1962.
