Details surrounding this year's Barclaycard Mercury Prize have been announced.
The event will be held on November 1 this year, with the 12 shortlisted albums confirmed in September instead of June in previous years.
The eligibility period for albums has also been extended to cover July 12 2011 to September 10 2012.
"By announcing the Barclaycard Mercury Prize 'Albums of the Year' after the summer, we will be able to generate more interest in the shortlisted artists than ever before, building momentum in the run up to the Awards Show and beyond,'' said Dan Ford from the Barclaycard Mercury Prize.
"Importantly this year's eligibility period for entries will be extended to include UK albums released between Tuesday 12 July 2011 and Monday 10 September 2012."
PJ Harvey won the Mercury Prize 2011 for her album ‘Let England Shake’.
The singer, who also won the award ten years ago, beat the likes of Adele and Tinie Tempah.
