Josh Franceschi, lead singer of You Me At Six, has hit out at fans who have attacked his ex-girlfriend on Twitter following the duo's recent split.
The rock and roll frontman has asked fans to end their hate campaign against his ex calling those involved 'pathetic' and 'wrong'.
"I'm only going to say this once and I hope the minority it's about, take note. The speech I was making on tour before Reckless has nothing to do with my ex. Me and her ended things on amicable terms. So people sending her shit is a) pathetic and b) wrong," he told his Twitter followers. "As I said, it's the minority. But to those of you who have been doing this, please don't get involved in my private life. No need."
He later added on a video blog: "I have absolutely no idea why any one out there would deem it necessary or acceptable to send horrible shit to my ex girlfriend, and to bombard her with negativity but let me make something very clear, people doing this, this isn’t cool, isn’t you being ‘supportive’ and certainly isn’t what I’d hope from our ‘fans’. Some of what you’re saying is quite frankly shocking and pretty disgusting and you should be ashamed of yourselves. Rant over. Back the f*ck off."
Franceschi recently made a speech at the band's Brixton gig which many took to believe was a rant against his ex. The band are currently on tour across the UK. For more information, visit Gigwise Gig Tickets.
