Katy Perry hints at 'real f**king dark' new material

While Katy Perry is most obviously associated with pop, confectionary and bright colours, she has claimed that her next album will be "real ****ing dark". This is not such a surprise, however, given her divorce from Russell Brand at the end of last year.

In an interview with The Sun newspaper, Perry says: "My music is about to get real ****ing dark. You'd never see my face because my hair would be in it."

Perry is also in the process of working on her third studio LP, but remains busy in a number of ways as she is due to appear in a 3D concert movie called 'Katy Perry: Part Of Me', being released in the summer.

While discussing the cinematic project, she said: "I wanted to show people this parade that surrounds me, I wanted them to see the engine. I wanted people to be able to experience the tour and all the joy it brought, which is why we shot it in 3D."

Last year Perry featured in The Smurfs and Muppets films, but has told Teen Vogue of how she was also offered a part in the Oscar-winning The Help. "There was a time when I was going to be involved in The Help...but I couldn't because the shooting schedule conflicted with the release of my record."

"I was upset about that; I knew it was going to be an important film."

Her views on her status were recently addressed when she decribed fame as being "a disgusting by-product of what I do."
