Vampire Weekend's Chris Baio debuts solo EP - listen

Indie star Chris Baio of Vampire Weekend has premiered a track from his forthcoming solo EP.

Releasing under his DJ name of simply 'Baio', 'Tanto' is a million miles from his Vampire Weekend material, 'Tanto' is a tribal dance track, packed with steel crums, caribbean sounds and a laid-back, beach-bar vibe.

Signed to Roman-Greco, which is co-run by Joe Goddard (Hot Chip, 2 Bears), the influence of the label owner is evident on this progressive slice of brilliant, alternative dancefloor action. The minimal vocals are provided by Matias Aguayo.
