Icelandic superstar Bjork has cancelled her headline slots at the Primavera festivals in Spain and Portugal next month due to an inflamed nodule in her throat.
The singer was meant to be appearing at events in Barcelona on June 2 and Porto on June 9. Bjork has been forced to cancel due to illness, having to announce the news with a ‘heavy heart’.
The festival organisers released a statement saying: “After cancelling some shows due to an inflamed nodule, Bjork's specialist doctor advised her to keep resting and not to continue with the shows as they could bring a permanent damage to her voice. We are very sorry about any inconvenience this might bring, and appreciate your understanding. We wish Bjork a quick and full recovery to continue enjoying her talent soon.”
Bjork has not cancelled all of her scheduled performances this summer and is still set to play Open’er and Øya festivals. Primavera is offering to refund day tickets for the days Bjork was performing, if they were purchased before May 10.
