Adele has said that she is not interested in being recognised on the street and that she dresses down to avoid people spotting her.
The hugely succesful star behind hits such as 'Rolling In The Deep' rarely attends public events and revealed this week that she is not interested in being the sort of popstar who turns up in the newspapers every day.
''I don't want to be a celebrity . . .I don't want to be in people's faces,'' she told NBC's Matt Lauer.
Revealing how she avoids recognition when she does go out, Adele added: ''I've managed to stay out of the public eye. 'The other day I walked through Trafalgar Square on a Sunday afternoon, a tourist haven.
''I was a bit worried . . . I was in my pajamas as well because I had been working the day before . . .[but] nobody recognised me. A couple of people looked round, but . . . like, 'What would she be doing walking through Trafalgar Square in pajamas?'''
Earlier this week Adele spoke out to deny rumours that she was engaged and that Rihanna had sent her a birthday cake in the shape of a pair of breasts for her recent 24th birthday.
