Ed Sheeran plays hospital gig for fan dying from cancer

Ed Sheeran performed a private show earlier this year for a fan who was dying of cancer, it has been revealed.

The 'A-Team' star visited 14-year-old Abigail Fleming at Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice in Sheffield, South Yorks after she sent him a video message telling him that one of her last wishes was to see him perform live. Due to her illness however, she was unable to travel - so Ed took the performance to her.

"She really loved it. He didn’t just make her day, it made her life," said Abigail's mum Maria. "He was a complete gentleman. He flew in from Paris to London and then caught the train to Sheffield.

"Abigail gave him a card and a key ring to say thank you. He gave her a bracelet which somebody had given him for his 18th birthday."

Sheeran is now planning to raise money for the hospice. He also recently denied rumours that he quit his support slot on Snow Patrol's current US tour to enter rehab.
