Huey Morgan's job at 6Music is safe, despite the fact he publicly criticised both the station and host Lauren Laverne earlier this week.

As reported on Gigwise earlier this week, Morgan had a meltdown on Twitter following the Sony Awards in London on Monday night. He later apologised for his insults.

However, any fears Morgan may lose his job at the BBC have been dismissed by 6 Music controller Bob Shennan who called the incident a 'blip'.

“It was a bit of nonsense and Huey is the first to know he’s acted in a daft way and he’s apologised now and we can move on,” said Shennan, who admitted that Morgan had been spoken to by 6Music management. Adding: “He’s been a valuable part of the 6 story and he’s a wonderful broadcaster and much loved, but it was just a blip.”
