Girls Aloud's much-discussed comeback looks likely to be this year's Children In Need charity single, according to tabloid reports.
The Sun newspaper claims that Cheryl Cole is due to return to sharing duties with bandmates Nicola Roberts, Nadine Coyle, Sarah Harding and Kimberley Walsh and record the tune for this year's charity event. The band have previously spoken of a reunion in 2013 to mark their 10-year anniversary.
"The plan is to release it in November," says a source. "It is looking like it will be an original song. Bosses think it will be the perfect comeback hit as well as helping a good cause."
Cheryl Cole is currently promoting her third album 'A Million Lights' and recently released the video for her first single from the collection, 'Call My Name'. Fellow bandmates Nadine Coyle and Nicola Roberts also attempted solo careers, but struggled alone and failed to score any notable hits.
The girlband's absense from the charts has been largely blamed on Nadine, who now lives in the US and is said to have no contact with the rest of the group.
