More about: Muse
Muse frontman Matt Bellamy has revealed that the band's new single 'Madness' was written after a row with his partner, Hollywood actress Kate Hudson.
The track, which you can hear below, is taken from Muse's forthcoming studio album 'The 2nd Law' and was described by Coldplay's Chris Martin as the best song the band have ever made.
Speaking to The Sun, Bellamy described the setting for his writing of the song.“The madness is the to-ing and fro-ing in a relationship. It just came out of a little spat and fight we had.
Adding: “The song is the transition of having the fight, digging my heels in and then after a few hours realising she’s probably right.”
Bellamy went on to discuss his life living with an A-List actress, explaining how “Kate’s doing an HBO film with Larry David, so she’s been laughing her head off with him all week. I was only there for a couple of days.
“Popping to the US for a couple of days isn’t too bad. It’s when you go for a week and have to adjust to the time change that makes the jet lag hard.”
