Lady Gaga made a passionate speech to her Moscow crowd last night as she continues to fight for equality.

The 'Just Dance' hitmaker took a moment during her show to make her feelings known and to tell the whole country to fight against homophobia.

Gaga told the crowd: "Get on your feet, Stand up, Russia. You have one chance to unite."

She continued: "Where's all my gay kids tonight? Tonight, this is my house, Russia."

Gaga had previously thanked Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev for rejecting conservative laws banning 'homosexual propaganda' and she amazed by the number of people that had turned out to see her.

She did admit that she thought her show would get her into trouble due to 'all the gay propaganda in the show', but all seemed to be well as Gaga show her appreciation to the fans. She said: "Thank you for spreading the message of equality around the world. Thank you for spreading the message of 'Born This Way.'"

The US star could be on shaky ground with the announcements however, after pop rival Madonna landed in legal trouble after similar statements during her Russian shows.

A law in St Petersburg imposes fines for spreading homosexual propaganda, and the activists claimed that Madonna was in breach of the law and that she had traumatised minors by speaking up for gay rights at the concert.

Madonna asked supporters of gay rights to raise their hands while wearing a pink bracelet, and the activists also used a video in their lawsuit that showed Madonna stomping on an Orthodox cross.

The case was thrown out of court at the end of November 2012.
