Norwegians set to conquer Britain after obliterating US

Scandinavian TV presenters turned global pop superstars Ylvis are set to appear on Children in Need for the first UK performance of huge viral sensation 'The Fox (What Does The Fox Say?)'

The novelty track has entered the UK chart inside the Top 20 this week, and it is set to conquer these shores in the same way that it has slayed America. The song is still at No.6 on the Billboard 100, and the comedy duo have made appearances on many US shows such as Ellen and Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.

The track was originally written to promote the third series of their show “I Kveld Med Ylvis” or “Tonight with Ylvis” on TV Norge. Almost entirely by accident it became huge, with no one predicting just how ubiquitous it would become. However, the band have joked they now have high hopes for chart success. They told The Guardian: "We want to pass No.1 and get into those negative numbers. We don't know if it's possible but we'll try."

Love it or hate it, there's no doubt that after Children in Need on 15 November there will be no getting away from it. Our advice is to enjoy your last fortnight of Fox free airtime for a very long time indeed.
