BBC Sound of 2014 finalist Sampha has re-released an EP featuring some of his early recordings in aid of charity. Check it out below.

The velvet-voiced singer and producer originally released the Sundanza EP in 2010 via label Young Turks, but has now shared the collection again in aid of the Youth Cancer Trust. Despite being old material, it's still excellent, brilliantly showcasing the South London musician's talents as a producer as well as a vocalist.

Listen to the Sundanza EP below:

Sundanza has certainly stoked our appetite for a full length album from Sampha even more. The musician, who originally found fame in 2011 when he appeared on electronic musician's SBTRKT's self-titled debut, had a big 2013, releasing his second EP dual in July before appearing on Drake's album Nothing Was The Same.  A brief but important cameo on Beyonce's massive self-titled record then followed, before he topped off the year by finishing fourth on BBC's Sound of 2014 countdown.

Below: the alternative Sound of 2014 - who we'd have liked to make the top 5:

  • 5. Royal Blood: The Sound of 2014 shortlist was missing a bit of good old noisy rock and roll this year, and we feel Royal Blood deserved to feature amongst a electronic/R&B dominated countdown. [Photo: Horst Friedrichs]

  • 4. Chance The Rapper: Chance's debut mixtape Acid Rap was one of the best releases of 2013, and we reckon he'll have the same effect on hip hop's sound in 2014 as A$AP Rocky did last year.

  • 3. Say Lou Lou: We think it's criminal the duo were omitted from the shortlist - they have the power to make pop credible and cool again in 2014.

  • 2. Sampha: One of the most stunning vocalists to emerge in 2013, every appearance the South London musician makes is enchanting whether it be on a moody Drake track or a bouncy Lil Silva garage cut. He places 4th on the shortlist, but he deserves to be higher.

  • 1. FKA twigs: We would have fallen off our chairs with surprise if mysterious vocalist twigs had been picked for the top spot, but obviously that was never going to happen - her debut EP2 was just too weird, in a beautiful and brilliant way. We can't wait to hear more from her.
