Nile Rodgers has revealed that he's working on a Chic track that features 'almost everybody' who has ever sung with him - which could mean David Bowie, Pharrell, Madonna and many, many more.
The Godfather of disco has been in huge demand since his resurgence on Daft Punk's Random Access Memories reminded the world of his sheer class and influence. He has since been hard at work on a brand new album by Chic.
Taking to Twitter to discuss progress on the record, Rodgers said:
I'm just finishing up a new song for CHIC that's going to feature almost everybody that's ever sung with me. I can't wait to do that session

He's worked with a lot of awesome people. Here are just a few that could feature on said track: David Bowie, Daft Punk, Pharrell Williams, Madonna, Grace Jones, Peter Gabriel, Sister Sledge, Mariah Carey, Robert Plant, Diana Ross, Jessie Ware, Sam Smith.
That could be one helluva song.

Speaking to Gigwise last year about his current working and personal relationship with Bowie today, Rodgers said: "We're as close as I am with most artists I've worked with. I'm maybe a little closer to David because a year ago I was honoured by my charity and he made a really sweet and wonderful film for me. I call whenever I need a licence for 'Let's Dance' or a song or something like that."
Regarding the possibility of Bowie touring again, Rodgers added: "I have no idea. I know as much about that as you do. Probably less. But like I said, he's full of surprises so who knows?"
Meanwhile, Nile Rodgers and Chic are lined up for a number of UK festivals this summer, including V Festival and Bestival. For more information visit Gigwise tickets.
