Last night saw the premiere of Radio 1's rescoring of Drive, a project that when it was announced caused huge amounts of furore online. Nevertheless, with a track list that included the likes of Bastille, Biffy Clyro and The 1975, some got behind it. Mark Kermode even stepped out on his blog to defend the decision and tell audiences to wait and see. Nicolas Winding Refn even got on board and said that he was behind the idea.
Nevertheless the reaction on Twitter, while not wholely negative was rather pessimistic. Views ranged from "car crash" to "brilliant", most however were not a fan of Zane Lowe's choice to rescore the film, bar a few exceptions from The 1975 and Bastille.
@MarkGlass1 It was an empty, horrible experiment. Shows how important the original score was. #DriveRescore

It wasn't as good as the original soundtrack but I quite enjoyed Radio ones rescore of Drive last night, such a good film.

The #DriveRescore was worth it simply to hear something new from The 1975.

Listened to the Drive soundtrack at the gym to make up for last nights rescore car crash.

Everyone has already given their 2 Cents worth on the Drive rescore. Mine is that it was an interesting idea with redundant results.

So disappointed with the Radio 1 Drive rescore, almost ruined an amazing film

@zanelowe what an amazing job you did with curating the rescore of #Drive. They don't make 'em like you anymore man! 👌

The general response to the unbelievable cock foolery of #DriveRescore is only magnified by its pretentiousness. Didn't even vaguely work.

Couldn't continue watching @zanelowe @bbc Rescore of #drive. Couldn't see the point, for better or worse?

I don't get what the hell this drive rescore is about, but the movie is awful and the music doesn't go with it
