After one bag of air from a Kanye West show reached a price of $60,000, the site has been taken over by sellers imitating the original auction, selling everything from copycat bags of air to Kanye's farts.
As The Telegraph reports, the bag of air was originally put up for auction on eBay with a starting bid of $5.00, and reached over $60,000 before it was removed from the site. The seller, from Pennsylvania, explained that he acquired the air at an unspecified concert on the tour where he, "Held bag open and sealed air in."
It was listed simply as 'Kanye West Yeezus Tour Air For Sale', and the photographed item was a ziplock sandwich bag labelled 'air from Kanye show'. Although this listing has been removed, according to Rolling Stone, eBay has apparently given up on clamping down on the 'bags of air' trend, and you can bag yourself some bona fide front row Kanye-air for as little as 99p.
Other items up for auction which are following the trend (or mocking it), including everything from 'Flatulence from Kanye', to 'Kanye West Concert Air-Infused Bay Leaves' (with a starting bid of $4,999.00). Seemingly frustrated sellers are even selling jars of air 'not from a Kanye West concert.'
Earlier this week West performed at Koko. The night proved something of a landmark moment for London's grime scene, with the biggest players from the scene taking to the stage with West. Performances on the night included Skepta, JME, Vic Mensa, Big Sean, Raekwon and Novelist.
