Hip-hop's wealthiest artists of 2015 - the Forbes Five revealed

5. Birdman - $150 Million: His total dropped slightly from last year (down from $160 million ) due to uncertainty surrounding Cash Money Records, as there are rumors that Lil Wayne might be leaving.

4. 50 Cent - $155 Million: He earned $100 million on the sale of Vitaminwater in 2007, and now he has new stakes in SMS headphones, Effen vodka and Frigo underwear.

3. Jay Z - $550 Million: While it's still unclear as to how his investment in Tidal will play out, Jay Z still has a pretty big income in part due to assets such as Roc Nation and Armand de Brignac champagne.

2. Dr. Dre - $700 Million: The sale of Beats got Dre the "largest single-year payday of any musician in history", according to Forbes, as well as a "nine-figure tax bill" that kept him from topping this list.

1. Diddy - $735 Million: Topping this list yet again (he topped it last year with $700 million), Diddy has large stakes in the TV network Revolt, the clothing line Sean John, the alkaline water brand Aquahydrate and the tequila brand DeLeon.

Forbes has just revealed its annual list of the top five wealthiest artists in hip-hop. It's pretty similar to last year's list, but a few of the names have swapped spots.

To collaborate the list, Forbes follows the same procedures used to calculate their list of the world’s billionaires by "valuing current holdings, looking at past earnings and talking to analysts, attorneys, managers, other industry players and even some of the moguls themselves to find out as many details as possible."
