AC/DC just revealed details of new tour dates in the UK this summer at Manchester's Etihad Stadium and London's Olympic Park. Since we're so excited to hear the likes of 'Back In Black', and 'High Voltage' live again, we've listed their greatest songs of all time.
Live, they redefine what anyone considers possible. Tens of lorrys roll up as a ridiculous number of amps and props are assembled. Live music rarely comes as extravagant or as exciting as the flamboyant classic rock of AC/DC, and their mammouth stadium shows include pyrotechnics and different corresponding backdrop for every song. Long walkways for Angus Young and Brian Johnson to run down and heighten the energy on stage.
Their legacy is near perfect. Few bands get cited as all time greats as often as them, and their back cataologue, which stretches back to 1974 when the late great Bon Scott was frontman, is impeccable. The Bon Scott era, which ran up until his death in 1980, brought some of their very best songs. However, Brian Johnson, who replaced him, has been the perfect successor doing justice to the void left open by his death as 1980's Back In Black, which is Johnson's first album with the band, is often heralded as one of the greatest rock albums of all time.
Incredibly, the band are still touring even though Malcolm Young, Angus' brother, is ill and unable to join the band and original drummer Phil Rudd has been arrested after pleasing guilty for drug charges and threats to kill so will also not be there. Nevertheless, the shows will be incredible and an opportunity to witness the live spectacle not be missed!
