Canadian drummer Dewey Martin played for over nine bands and artists including Roy Orbison and The Everly Brothers. However, he's best known as the drummer for Buffalo Springfield and created 'New Buffalo Springfield' when the original line up disbanded. In 1997 he invented a drum that could be used to make three different rim shot sounds. He died on January 31st of natural causes but had been suffering recent health problems. He was 68.
